The Saskatchewan Foster Families Association exists to support and encourage foster families through education and advocacy, helping create healthy homes, positive environments, and brighter futures for children and youth in care across the province.
The Saskatchewan Foster Families Association is looking for a childcare support worker to assist a family in the Melville Area. Applicants must have 3-5 years of experience working with children with complex needs and display a positive, calm demeanor in meeting their needs.
This position will be from 30-40 hours per week.
Duties may include but are not limited to:
- Assistance with before school routine: hygiene, breakfast, transition to school and light housekeeping.
- Assistance with evening routine: homework, reading, assistance with hygiene, tending to the emotional needs of the children as required, laundry and meal prep.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age
- Youth Care Diploma or Early Childhood Education Diploma is considered an asset; Experience will also be considered with references
- Demonstrate and practice a healthy lifestyle
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with children, supervisors, and partnering agencies and maintain strict confidentiality and appropriate boundaries
- Ability to express ideas and concepts effectively in an oral and written form
- Criminal Record Check (Within 3 Months)
Salary for this position is $14 to $19 per hour dependent on experience.
