The Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure, Fleet Services, is seeking a motivated individual interested in an in house training opportunity as an apprentice mechanic in our Saskatoon Repair shop.
Under the general direction of the Shop Manager/Supervisor, you will be working with Journeyperson technicians to learn & assist with mechanical repairs, preventative maintenance, and Saskatchewan Government Insurance safety inspections to all types of trucks, highway construction and maintenance equipment. Some services will be performed in the shop and field, and travel may be required with the possibility of overnight stays.
To qualify for this position:
You will be an apprentice in either Truck Transport, Heavy Duty or Agriculture trades or
You will be mechanically inclined and you would be required to achieve 1st year apprentice status within 6 months of your start date. (Timeline extension(s) for unforeseen circumstances such as apprenticeship commission delays would be at management discretion)
