Description

The Canadian Light Source (CLS) is one of the leading 3rd generation synchrotron radiation facilities in the world, located on the University of Saskatchewan campus. Visiting researchers (users) from academia, industry and government institutions come to the CLS to explore the nature and structure of molecules in order to find Canadian solutions for global challenges in agriculture, health, advanced materials and the environment.

The CLS operates a Guest House on campus for its researchers and requires a part-time Guest Services Attendant to work a minimum of 20 hours/week. Reporting to the Guest Services Coordinator, this position is responsible for performing a combination of housekeeping and office duties that contribute to the overall satisfaction of our guests experience.

Responsibilities:
- Cleaning and disinfecting guest rooms, bathrooms and common areas
- Washing and changing linens
- Stocking rooms and common areas, maintaining inventory, and ensuring facility meets quality standards
- Performing custodial tasks at the CLS when Guest House occupancy is low
- Processing guest reservations and payments
- Maintaining the reservation database and providing monthly occupancy reports
- Meeting guests and providing check-in packages for evening and weekend arrivals

Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Proficiency using MS Word and Excel
- Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience would be an asset
- Must possess excellent customer service skills and be a team player
- Must be in good physical condition to do manual work and able to lift and move heavy objects, and stand for long periods of time
