Description

The Saskatchewan Foster Families Association is seeking qualified applicants to work with our support team in providing direct care to children in the Saskatoon Area. Child Care Providers are responsible to supervise and monitor behaviors in meeting the emotional and physical needs of children residing in the home.

Schedule & Hours
We are currently seeking staff to work a combination of shifts including days, evenings, weekends and overnights.

Through your role as a Child Care Provider, you will:
- Support children to build strengths and support challenges that meets diverse needs.
- Follow support plans and structure as provided by the homes Coordinator
- Participate in recreational activities to encourage relationship and trust between children and care providers; Must be physically fit and willing to participate in activities such as tobogganing, swimming, skating etc.
- Assist in meal preparation following the dietary requirements of all residents of the home; Perform light housekeeping duties as required
- Support of childrens emotional and social development to foster independence and regulation
- Knowledge of safety and emergency procedures in dealing with Crisis
- Perform other duties as required
What you must possess:
- Strong understanding of child development and managing the physical and emotional needs of children suffering with ADHD, Autism and PTSD.
- At least 2 years of experience in working with children up to the age of 12, who display high behavioral and mental health needs.
- A clear Criminal Record Check inclusive of the Vulnerable Sector Check within the last 3 months
- Valid First Aid & CPR
- Valid Drivers License
- Non-violent crisis intervention (Considered an asset)
