Safety Supervisor Job Description Essential Duties:
Provide leadership and coordination of the day-to-day safety requirements of an assigned project. Projects include, but are not limited to: oilfield battery turnarounds, oilfield construction, maintenance projects, pipeline projects, service rigs.
Haul and operate a supplied breathing air trailer to various sites
Regularly review and be familiar with all applicable legislation and applicable standards, to ensure compliance.
Provide direction, support and resource to all site operators, consultants, supervisors and foremen.
Ensure incident corrective actions are followed up on and completed.
Communicate, coach and assist workers to ensure that all safety expectations are understood and met.
Skills Required:
Strong technical skills an asset and willingness to learn how to inspect and fill breathing air bottles, repair four gas personal monitors and aid in the inspection of fire extinguishers and various types of personal protective equipment
Excellent leadership and conflict resolution skills
Effective communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to perform under stressful conditions
Analytical skills
Probability and decision making skills
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Effective organizational skills
Qualifications:
Must have supervisory experience.
The ability to demonstrate the application of risk assessment to company operations and activities.
Must have a valid drivers licence, ability to haul a trailer and ability to find land locations.
Oilfield tickets considered an asset: H2S Alive!. Confined Space Entry and Rescue, Fall Protection, WHMIS, TDG.
Good physical condition.
Ability to travel.
CPR and First Aid certifications preferred.
*Willing to train the right candidate.
