ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Program Design Duties
o Design the activities the program uses in its day-to-day operations. These include a schedule of daily activities to entertain, stimulate and educate the children.
o Plan must also ensure that the facility is kept clean, sanitary and well-organized.
Staff Supervision Duties
o supervising any staff who work at the facility
o Preparing staff work schedule
o Reviewing staff performance as needed
Administrative Duties
o In charge of recordkeeping, managing petty cash, and maintaining client files
o Completion of program billing and review and submission of staff pay files in a timely manner
o Purchasing supplies needed by the program such as new equipment or art supplies
o Interacting with parents
o Must be conscientious about issues such as the proper handling of funds and the privacy rights of clients.
o Must also be able to interact with parents in a welcoming and pleasant way. Parents and staff must feel that they can approach Program Coordinator freely with any issues that may come up.
o Must be able to communicate with parents concerning potentially difficult topics such as behavior issues and program payments.
Direct Care Duties
o Actively participate in a variety of enriching activities with school-aged children
o Follow program schedule including homework help, implementation of curriculum theme, cleanup, and other times set for activities;
o Assist in maintaining high standard of health and safety keeping the health and welfare of all children in mind at all times
o Participate in regularly scheduled staff meeting as well as other staff meetings as needed.
o Follows policies and procedures to ensure health and safety requirements are met
