ESTIMATOR
JNE Welding has been providing quality custom steel fabrications for the resource based industries for over 38 years, gaining a reputation of being a fabricator of choice. We are located in Saskatoon Saskatchewan and proudly serve the mining, environmental, construction, oil sand and power generating sectors of Canada. JNE Welding is currently looking for an experienced Estimator who will be responsible for:
- Preparing estimate take-offs from tender drawings, reviewing specifications, and sourcing material and/or subcontractor prices
- Preparing schedules and estimates including coordinating sub trade invitations and estimates
- Assisting with the preparation of contracts, negotiations and revisions with clients
- Acting as a team player to determine bidding opportunities; aid with resource allocation and planning of work
- Attending tender site visits and interacting with clients during tendering phase
- Preparing pre-qualification and/or tender submissions for presentation to Clients
Ideal candidates will have:
- Industrial steel construction and/or steel fabrication related experience
- An Engineering degree or diploma is an asset
- Experience in estimating of ASME pressure vessels and pressure piping
- Personal initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment
- Good working knowledge of MS Office Suite particularly Excel and Word
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong problem solving skills
- Ability to work in fast paced environment with multiple deadlines
