Description

The Crew Lead - Facilities is responsible for the supervision of personnel and various hands-on tasks in the maintenance and operation of the City of Moose Jaws facilities, buildings and equipment.  

This position will perform the following duties:
-    Ensure the proper preventative and daily maintenance requirements are met for all City owned facilities and buildings including: arena refrigeration plants, ice resurfacing equipment, pool systems, boil systems, furnaces/heaters, HVAC systems and automated HVAC/BAS control systems;
-    Skilled tasks such as: ice maintenance, pool maintenance, mechanical trouble shooting, building issues, general repairs and groundskeeping;
-    Ensure all daily and preventative maintenance is being completed in a safe and timely manner by staff and contractors;
-    Ensure proper records are maintained regarding daily pool logs, arena logs, daily maintenance checklists, documents and reports;
-    Ensure all staffing requirements are met. Train, evaluate and record disciplinary action;
-    Responsible for creating, maintaining and updating staff schedules;
-    Ensure time cards, daily gang reports, vehicle circle checks, work orders and staff reports are completed and submitted;
-    Investigate concerns brought forth by the public;
-    Assist in the creation of yearly Operations and Capital Budgets;
-    Able to be on standby 2 weeks per month on a rotational basis.

Qualified candidates will possess:
-    Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent;
-    Possess and maintain: Refrigeration Operator's Certificate, Fireman's Certificate and Class 5 driver's license;
-    Supervisory experience;
-    Able to obtain: SPRA Level 1 Arena Operator's Certificate or equivalent, Swimming Pool Operator's Certificate and Class 3A driver's license and SIAST Building Systems Technician Certificate or approved equal;
-    Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
