Description

The City of Moose Jaw is seeking to fill our Swimming Pool Caretaker position. Under the direction of the Facilities & Buildings Supervisor, the Swimming Pool Caretaker performs a variety of routine maintenance and semi-skilled tasks in the operation of equipment and the maintenance of recreation facilities.

This position will perform the following duties:
-    Maintenance of Sportsplex building and facilities, including but not limited to various janitorial duties such as sweeping, mopping, cleaning, snow removal and minor repairs;
-    Operation and maintenance of pool equipment and related mechanical systems including boilers, furnaces, heaters, automated controls, filters, pool disinfection systems and air handling units;
-    Assist with the operation and maintenance of the arena and outdoor pool when required;
-    Maintain daily pool logs, arena logs, complete daily maintenance checklists, documents and report issues;
-    Determine appropriate levels of water treatment for swimming pools to ensure Public Health requirements are met;
-    Deal with the public in a courteous manner;
-    Able to be fit tested for use of respirator/SCBA.

The ideal candidate will have:
-    Completion of Grade 12 with some experience swimming pool operations;
-    Possess a Refrigeration Operator's Certificate OR a Fireman's Certificate OR a Saskatchewan Health Swimming Pool Operator-s Certificate at hire with the understanding that all 3 certifications will be required to retain the position;
-    Class 5 driver's license;
-    Able to obtain SPRA Level 1 Arena Operator's Course or equivalent;
-    Able to deal courteously, effectively and tactfully with the general public.
