Description

The Early Childhood Educator will work at our PILOT BUTTE location with children
6 weeks old to 12 years of age.

Qualifications:
Minimum one year Early Childhood Education Certificate (ECE II), or ECE I working towards ECE II
Ability to work with people, of different ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Acceptable CPIC (police screen).
Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 drivers licence an asset.

General Responsibilities
Develop and implement daily activities for children
Lead children in activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, demonstrating the use of simple musical instruments, preparing craft materials and demonstrating their use, providing opportunities for creative expression through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical fitness, and taking the children to local points of interest
Observe children for signs of learning disabilities or emotional problems and report concerns to Floor Supervisor and Site Director
Submit written observations/assessments on children to Supervisor and Site Director when requested
Adapt programming to meet the needs and abilities of children in your group
Discuss progress or problems of children with parents, professionals and other staff members
May accompany children to and from school
May plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours
Coordinate your activities with those of the other early childhood educators
Arrange rooms and furniture for lunch and rest periods
Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
Help children clean up after activities and generally tidy up the Centre
Maintain child care equipment and assist in housekeeping duties
Be familiar with safety, first aid, fire drill procedures and the Child Care Regulations
Assist and guide substitute staff
Any other work related activities
