POSITION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Cameco is looking for motivated individuals to join the maintenance team at the worlds second largest high grade uranium deposit, located at the Cigar Lake operation in northern Saskatchewan.
You will be responsible for servicing underground heavy equipment as specified by preventative maintenance work orders. This includes performing inspections and lubrication of mobile heavy equipment as well as troubleshooting, completing overhauls and repair work as required.
There are two temporary positions available for approximately 12 months.
Education and Qualifications
Requirements of the position:
Valid Saskatchewan or interprovincial journeyperson heavy duty mechanic/heavy duty equipment technician certificate
Five years related experience with underground mobile heavy equipment maintenance
Ability to utilize OEM diagnostic software
Team player with good communication skills
Excellent safety record
Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft
Assets:
Familiarity with computerized maintenance tracking using SAP
Preference will be given to Residents of Saskatchewans North.
The Cigar Lake operation is located in northern Saskatchewan and operates on a two week on/two week off rotational schedule. Employees commute to the site by aircraft from designated locations in Saskatchewan.
Safety is a top priority at Cameco. Successful candidates for all positions at safety-sensitive sites or in safety-sensitive positions must take and pass a substance test (which includes marijuana testing) as a condition of employment. Marijuana remains in a users system for about 30 days, so applicants who recently used marijuana recreationally should not expect to pass a substance test.
