Description

PARTNERS Family Services is accepting applications for the position of Mental Health Counsellor. PARTNERS staff provide a safe, confidential and welcoming environment that assists individuals and families to meet their immediate and on going needs. The Mental Health Counsellor will primarily work with adult and youth clients facing a variety of challenges including mood disorders, conduct disorders, family disharmony, etc.
This position is a casual position with hours varying between 0 and 32 hours per week, dependent on caseload. The worker will be responsible for scheduling their own clients for in office counselling sessions to ensure their clients needs are met.
Requirements:
- BSW/BISW/MPsych or other relevant degree and registration with an appropriate governing body
- A minimum of 3 years experience working with youth and adults in a counselling setting, with a focus on working with individuals with mood disorders
- Experience with bereavement would be an asset
- Proficiency in intake, assessment, file management, case planning, etc
-Experience collaborating and with internal and external stakeholders to ensure coordination of services to clients
- Strong team work capacity, highly organized, and capable of managing varied demands
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and professional demeanor
- Computer competencies
-Clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector screening
