Bourgault Industries currently has an opportunity for a Junior Firmware Engineer to join our autonomous development team based in Saskatoon. Our ideal candidate has experience in embedded firmware as well as knowledge of and passion for the ag industry!

Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and debug software components used on various agricultural products
- Evaluate and implement sensing technology, algorithms, and actuators
- Assist with concept development for new products
- Perform testing of sensing technology, algorithms, and actuators
- Communicate with vendors to specify and obtain outsourced components
- Assist with prototype assembly and testing
- Communicate with other internal teams for new product integration
- Communicate with dealers and customers for feedback and input on product
- Occasional travel to main production facility in St. Brieux, SK.
- Occasional travel to various field test locations

Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field, with applicable background
- Minimum of 1 year of work experience in the development of embedded software
- Familiar with hydraulic control, electric motor control and displays
- Strong software development skills (C, C++, Python)
- Ability to independently develop software development plans, including timelines and test procedures
- Understanding of Software architecture and lifecycle
- Able to work independently or within a team
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to think critically and analytically
- Knowledge of and passion for the agricultural industry
