The City of Weyburn Water Treatment Plant provides the operation and management for a 5 MLD Surface Water Conventional Classified Level 4 Water Treatment Plant.
This position reports directly to the Water Treatment Plant Superintendent and is an integral component of our Engineering Department providing good quality, safe water to the citizens of Weyburn.
Responsibilities:
- Perform regular testing of the water to ensure that the quality and safety of the water is maintained;
- Measure and calculate chemical feed rates;
- Fill and maintain chemical feed system;
- Perform tests and record test results required for day to day operations of the Water Treatment Plant;
- Clean and maintain equipment and the Water Treatment Plant facility;
- Maintain accurate records to ensure that regulation standards are being followed;
- Maintenance of plants, reservoirs, booster station and intake for adherence to departmental procedures and safety regulations; and
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Possess post-secondary diploma in water and wastewater or environmental science.
- Possess a minimum Class 3 Water Treatment Certification, actively working towards gaining Class 4 certification. Class 2 applicants may be given consideration if working towards Class 3 certification.
- Hold a valid Class 5 Drivers license.
