The Saskatchewan Research Councils (SRC) Environment Division has immediate openings for Technologists in the Air and Climate Business Unit. These are full-time permanent positions. SRC will consider applicants available to start immediately as well as those graduating in the Spring.
Accountabilities
Assist with stack sampling field projects
Load and unload equipment and prepare solutions for upcoming field jobs
Operate and maintain stack sampling equipment and gas analyzers
Prepare samples for analysis and conduct analysis and input data collected during field jobs
Clean and calibrate instruments, clean glassware and weigh filters and beakers
Assist in preparing reports for clients using Microsoft Office and other software
Qualifications
A Chemical or Environmental Technology Diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
Mechanical aptitude and experience in general repair and maintenance of equipment
Valid Class 5 drivers licence
Skills
A team player with effective interpersonal, communication, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and help where needed
Experience using Microsoft Office
Working Conditions
Frequent out-of-town travel, normally during the week and occasional extended travel for up to 10 days
Overtime hours during the week are required and occasional weekend work may be required
Frequent work in mine sites and industrial settings with exposure to dirt, dust and noise
Frequent exertion, including heavy lifting (up to 25 kg), climbing to platforms (up to 100 m high) and carrying/hoisting equipment
All safety equipment will be provided
The chosen candidate may be required to successfully pass alcohol and drug-screening tests as a condition of meeting site specific standards.
