The Foreman works in conjunction with Supervisors directing and managing all onsite workers, subcontractors and equipment, enforcing the company's policies, procedures and safety standards, while meeting deadlines.
Key Responsibilities -
- Ensure materials and equipment are available and organized.
- Organize and coordinate the daily activities of the crew, subcontractors and equipment.
- Read and interpret project plans and specifications.
- Lead and direct people, equipment and resources in the construction and paving of roads.
- Promote, execute and adhere to the company's safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.
- Prepare and submit incident reports and WCB reports within the specific deadlines.
- Administer and submit daily reporting.
- Work with Human Resources on employee performance and discipline.
- At times may be required to operate various paving equipment.
- Ensure all equipment is up to date on servicing and repairs and communicating with Service Manager.
Technical Skills -
- Proficient in use of all equipment and tools related to asphalt paving, especially screeds.
- Knowledge of road construction methods, materials and industry requirements.
- Extensive knowledge of asphalt production,application on roadway surfacing, and mix design of paving requirements.
Working Conditions -
- Travel as required.
- Overtime as required.
