You will be working assisting partners in the execution of compliance tax engagements, Notice to reader engagements, audit and review engagements and bookkeeping.We are looking for people with the necessary skill set that will fit with our culture.
Performance Expectations
-Assist in the execution of compilation, review, audit, bookkeeping and tax engagements including financial statement preparation
-Prepare personal and corporate tax returns
-Prepare and maintain payroll and related government remittances/filings (payroll, GST, PST), recording of sales, accounts receivable, expenses, accounts payable and payroll transactions
-Set up client files, assist with the completion of budgets and other administrative planning and completion aspects of accounting work
-Complete bank reconciliations and reconcile GL accounts
-Identify issues and errors, investigate discrepancies, discuss with manager or engagement partner and develop resolutions to resolve issues and errors
-Ability to handle multiple engagements at one time
Credentials
-Completion of an Accounting Business Diploma with Accounting focus
-Experience with Public accounting firm considered an asset but not necessary
-Experience with preparing all T slips and knowledge of personal and corporate tax would be considered an asset
-Understanding of payroll, bookkeeping and record keeping practices on a manual and computerized system(s)
-Experience working with, or exposure to, accounting and tax software such as Caseware, CanTax, FormMaster, Quickbooks and SAGE is beneficial
