Description

Purpose of the Position:

The primary purpose of this position involves responsibilities for the active management of residential mortgage portfolios from third party origination channels. As a key member of front office, this position is also responsible for assisting in the engagement of third party originators/servicers, assessing third party underwriting guidelines, managing the credit review process of Concentras mortgage portfolios. Internally, this position will work closely with Credit, Compliance, Accounting, IT, Legal and Corporate Analytics teams. Externally, this position will work closely with third party origination channels and evaluate their capabilities on regular basis.  In addition to this, the role will also be responsible for generating fee revenue and interest income through the sale of residential mortgage product to clients.

Key Outcomes & Responsibilities:

The Residential Mortgage Specialist provides support to third party origination channel management and evaluation by assisting in engaging originators/services in residential mortgages. This role also acts as a key credit & operation contact with third party suppliers.  You will review loan decisions for assessment of third party originator performance and accuracy, as well as support the monitoring of mortgage lending policies, processes and procedures. The successful candidate will develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external clients, including understanding credit union business drivers, systems trends and assist in regular client communication.

Minimum Qualifications:

Completion of a post secondary education program in a business/finance related field and at least 5 to 7 years of previous lending or credit risk management experience and demonstrated lending proficiency or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
