Description

This Out of Scope position reports to the IT Manager & provides management redundancy in the absence of the Manager. The position requires a self-starter with well-developed leadership & technical acumen.  The assistant manager is responsible to support the manager with the development of the strategic direction, implementation of strategic planning directives, & translating CanOps corporate goals into results by inspiring & motivating individual employees to meet & surpass their objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Supervise day to day operations of the Information Technology Unit personnel and technology.
-Assist in the development, implementation and ongoing evaluation of sustainable business growth strategies
-Assist in managing the budget, providing input on efficiencies & ensuring maximization of organizational goals and objectives
-Assist in the development, implementation & ongoing evaluation of financial strategies
-Assist in the preparation and control of budget(s)
-Assist in the development of annual forecasts.
-Plan, coordinate, deploy & monitor operational resources & activities on a day to day basis.
-Assist in the formulation & enforcement of company policies & procedures
-Assist in the determination of annual site operational goals & targets.
-Coaching & enabling employees to reach individual goals & targets
-Participate as an active member of the senior management team & other committees as required
-Attend trade shows & attend off site or out of province meeting as required
-Implement policy, procedure, & evaluation processes as they relate to staff & responsibilities
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
University business degree or College business diploma with 3-5 years demonstrated business management experience; Financial management experience is a definite asset; Must be highly organized, motivated & focused; Must be able to communicate fluently in English (written and oral)
