Description

This position will support programs, policies and standards related to quality assurance and regulatory issues; oversee issues relating to conformance/non-conformance and provide direction on improvements.Responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory, customer and 3rd party audit requirements; overseeing and improving quality management programs and procedures; assuring compliance of materials, products and services to agreed specifications; developing, driving and continuously improving food safety and quality systems.
The ideal candidate has strong working knowledge/experience on CFIA/Health Canada Good Manufacturing Practices and Import regulations in diverse commodities, experience with Good Laboratory Practices, and experience in the food industry. Knowledge on safety and environmental regulations would be an asset. He/she should possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with excellent interpersonal abilities and a willingness to work in a team environment.  A high degree of job knowledge, leadership, teamwork, problem solving, and decision making skills are essential.  

Bachelors Degree in scientific discipline such as food science, chemistry, biology, chemical engineering or related field is required. And/or;
3-5 years experience in quality control/quality assurance in the food/pharma industry.
Industry knowledge of HACCP, CFIA, Health Canada, FDA, GMP, Allergens and Food security
Technical competence in analytical chemistry or microbiology.
Food safety and food labeling compliance expertise
Detail-oriented
