Description

Deveraux Developments and its related group companies are involved in the development, construction and management of properties and multi-unit residential complexes. Based in Regina with ongoing projects in Winnipeg, Deveraux offers clients a wide range of construction services and builds projects of varying complexities, designs and sizes.

The Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Estimator will be based in Regina under the direction of a Quantity Surveyor (QS).

Responsibilities and duties:

Prepare estimates of probable costs of materials, labour and equipment for construction projects based on drawings and specifications
Prepare quantity takeoffs using computer aided technology such as planswift or bluebeam
Maintain cost database
Support the sub-contract procurement, including but not limited to the development of trade scope of works, tender issue and analysis in conjunction with the project team
Assist with preparing preliminary project budgets
Track changes to the design and/or construction work and adjusting budget projections accordingly
Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers and contractors
Obtain bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials
Conduct site visits as required

Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years of working as an Estimator or Quantity Surveyor
Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or related field.
Proficiency in the use of MS Office, in particular Excel and other industry related software.
Excellent Communication skills both written and verbal. Must be Confident and capable of communicating with clients and other team members.
Working towards an industry recognized professional designation is an asset (PQS or RICS).
