Description

The Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority (FCAA) protects consumer interests and supports economic well-being through responsive financial and consumer marketplace regulation.  FCAA currently has an exciting opportunity for a skilled leader who can fulfill the crucial joint roles of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Director of Audit and Finance.

As CFO, you will report to the Chief Executive Officer and the Board of the FCAA.  Your responsibilities will include carrying out the annual budget process, monthly fiscal forecasting, preparing annual financial statements and working with the external auditor.  You will also be responsible for establishing and maintaining internal control systems to safeguard public money, and creating accurate financial information.

As the Director of Audit and Finance, you will lead a team of professionals to conduct audits on industries regulated by FCAA to ensure their compliance with legislation.  Working closely with FCAAs regulatory divisions, you will develop and implement an audit focused risk assessment to guide annual audit plans.  Your expertise will be relied upon to assess potential risks specific to a company or individual in the different industries, determine the level or scope of audit, and the human and financial resource requirements.

Successful candidates must bring the experience and breadth of knowledge necessary to succeed in this opportunity.  We are looking for a leader with a degree in business administration or commerce with a Major in Accounting.  A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or equivalent designation is required. An alternative combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered.
