Job Description: As a member of a multi-disciplinary team within Child and Youth Services, the Social Worker provides mental health services to children, youth, who are exhibiting social/emotional/behavioural difficulties and to their families.  The Social Worker assesses children, youth and their families, creates intervention plans, provides therapy to individuals, and families.  At times the Social Worker may provide consultation to other agencies involved with family members, and refer clients to other appropriate services.  Periodically, the Social Worker also assists with program planning and may participate in interagency committee work, community development, and/or clinical supervision of practicum students.
Other Information

Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement.  HSAS seniority within the Saskatchewan Health Authority will be considered under the Selection Criteria.

Required Qualifications:
Masters of Social Work or Masters of Indigenous Social Work.
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW).
Minimum of one year experience in the area of child and youth mental health.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships with high-risk children, youth and their families.
Demonstrated knowledge of child development, family systems theory, attachment theory, addiction issues, mental health disorders, issues affecting mental health in children, and treatment modalities appropriate for children, youth and their families.
