Description

Credit Union Deposit Guarantee Corporation is the deposit guarantor for Saskatchewan credit unions, and the primary regulator for credit unions and SaskCentral.

We are seeking a confident, forward-thinking professional to join our Regulatory Policy and Prevention team.  If you are results-oriented, love working in a fast paced co-operative environment, and enjoy contributing to a constructive team culture, this may be the position for you.

The Job:
Reporting to the Manager, Regulatory Policy and Prevention, you will primarily be responsible for policy development to set regulatory requirements and expectations for Saskatchewan credit unions. You will analyze and report on credit union financial & non-financial performance, trends and emerging risks. You will also monitor developments in the regulatory environment, economy, financial services industry and changes to IFRS. You will respond to changes to regulatory requirements and provide guidance to Saskatchewan credit unions. The successful candidate will also provide accounting and financial expertise as required and participate in the development of capital and liquidity frameworks for credit unions.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a degree in business administration or commerce with three years of related experience in the financial services industry in the areas of finance, public policy or a regulatory environment. An MBA or CPA designation, or enrollment in either program, would be an asset. Strong research/analytical skills and knowledge of risk management practices, economics & the provincial/national economy are required. Core competencies include teamwork, communication, change management, conflict resolution, problem solving and decision making.
