Reporting to the City Manager, this position provides leadership and oversight to the Parks and Recreation Department and all recreation facilities. A primary goal of this position will be to promote recreation and make Meadow Lake a more healthy and active community.  The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to: facilitating community recreation opportunities; coordinating meetings of the Recreation Board; creating and managing the department's operating and capital budgets; and reviewing, implementing, and recommending changes to the department's operating policies and procedures.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated effective leadership, management and interpersonal skills; the ability to envision, develop and implement new ideas; creative problem solving; the ability to communicate effectively with staff, community groups and the public; and provide exceptional customer service. The following are the qualifications of the position:
    Minimum Grade 12
    Degree in Recreation/Leisure Management is an asset
    Minimum 4 years leadership experience, preferably in a similar environment
    Arena Operator, Pool Operator, and/or Ice Facility Operator certification is an asset
    A history of strong involvement in sports, recreation and/or cultural activities

A valid Class 5 Driver's Licence and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check are required for this position.
