The Yorkton Tribal Council is seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of the Resolution Health Support Worker.
The Resolution Health Support Worker is responsible for the following duties:
Provide emotional support (individual, family community)
Attend litigation hearings
Provide hearing support and after care follow up support
Follow up after care referrals
Conduct cultural activities, circles and home visits
Conduct family circles, information services, elder services, workshop and conference support services
Provide networking/liaison to communities for community based programs, legal firms, First Nations Communities and non-First Nations education
Conduct information sessions in communities and facilitate workshops
Qualifications:
Must have a Diploma or Certificate and specialized training in the human service field or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
Have a minimum of 3 years experience in the human service field, supported by the knowledge and understanding of FN'S language/culture, traditions/social issues/Indian Residential Schools & the impact on individuals/families & knowledge and skills in healing methodologies.
Willing to travel & must possess a valid drivers license and reliable vehicle
Work irregular or extended hours to complete special requests and/or projects
Manage a number of people/priorities/projects at one time, and may have to respond to emergency or crisis situations
