THE POSITION
The Central Tuberculosis (TB) Nurse is responsible for providing coordination, education, and consultation of services for the community based TB Program in the 23 Central First Nation Communities. This position supports communities in the prevention, education, and treatment of TB. This position provides professional support, mentoring and guidance to fulfill policy and guideline requirements of the First Nation and Inuit Health Branch Strategy Against Tuberculosis for First Nations On-reserve and TB Prevention & Control Saskatchewan.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provision of TB health education and assessment for services in the 23 Central First Nation Communities and at the STC Health Centre.
Collaborate within the STC system to meet client care and program objectives.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive TB program orientation, education and training program, utilizing innovative evidenced-based training strategies for TB Nurses, Community Health Nurses (CHN), and TB Program Workers (TBPW), and TB Administrative Support Worker.
Liaison with TB Prevention & Control SK and FNIHB-SK in the support of CHN case management in the delivery of Direct Observed Treatment (DOT) and DOTLTI.
Develop education resources and provide health education and awareness to communities through information sessions and presentations.
