Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Electrical Instrumentation Technologist will assist with the repair and troubleshooting of Electrical / Electronic operating systems. As well, they will assist in the upgrading and installation of new equipment.
Duties & Responsibilities
Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations
Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fibre-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, and other electrical components
Test electrical and electronic equipment and components to determine viability for operational status
Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices
Write, interpret and troubleshoot Siemens programming hardware and software
Write, interpret and troubleshoot Allan Bradley programming hardware and software
Write, interpret and troubleshoot Safety PLC programming hardware and software
Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records
Any other duties assigned by Management
Qualifications
Diploma in Electrical Instrumentation/Engineering Technology from an accredited Canadian institution
Minimum 5 years experience working in an industrial plant
Experience installing, servicing and maintaining Safety PLC, Siemens and Allan Bradley programming
