Under the guidance of the Senior Habitat & Population Ecologist this position will provide you with a broad range of field skills related to the collection of data for Mountain Sucker, in southwestern Saskatchewan. Duties and responsibilities of this project may include, but are not limited to capture and tagging of fish, habitat assessments, operation and maintenance of data collection equipment, landowner contacts; and data recording, input and analysis.

The ideal candidate will be college or university students or recent graduates in wildlife biology, ecology, environmental biology, general biology, natural resources management, or related field.  Applicants must have a valid drivers license and be prepared to work irregular hours.  Travel, sustenance and accommodations will be provided based on hours or work and location of required duties.

Applicants should be able to work outdoors in a variety of climates and conditions and be enthusiastic team players who can relate well with private landowners.  Preference will be given to applicants who have previous experience with applicable biological sampling techniques involving the operation of ATVs, electrofishing equipment, and small outboard motor boats.  Employees in these positions will routinely work on and around lakes, streams, and other bodies of water.
