Location: 2 positions in Saskatoon & 1 in Regina
An employee in this temporary summer position will function as a Technical Assistant. They will be undertaking activities in support of water quality monitoring projects associated with stream, river and lake sampling including, Lake Lenore, Lake Diefenbaker, Quill Lake and the QuAppelle River.
Duties and responsibilities include, as required:
Collecting water samples in accordance with accepted scientific practices, water quality monitoring and sample collection procedure and protocols;
Compiling and verify water quality data collected manually or electronically in accordance with established procedures
Ensuring accuracy and security of information collected;
Identifying and reporting data discrepancies and issues to the appropriate personnel.
Qualifications and Requirements:
The ideal candidates will be college, university students or recent graduates in biology or environmental studies. There is a particular interest in drawing students from Saskatchewan Polytechnic, University of Saskatchewan, and University of Regina, especially those with training in aquatic ecology or environmental engineering.
Work may require considerable travel, an irregular work schedule and, on occasion, extended absences from headquarters. Travel, sustenance, and accommodations will be provided when required to work away from headquarters.
