Description

Position Summary:    

Reporting to the plant manager, the equipment maintenance technician is responsible for the day-to-day activities related to general maintenance of the packaging facility.  The primary purpose and accountability of this position is derived by focusing on pro-active maintenance work ensuring all packaging plant equipment continues to achieve the best performance.

Core Responsibilities:    
Establish general plant and equipment maintenance and implement preventative maintenance tasks and documentation.
Facilitates and promotes a safe working environment for all employees, visitors and contractors.
Works as a team player and promotes a positive work environment.
As part of the maintenance team, assists in daily set-up of line equipment, monitoring and maintaining their optimum performances.
Maintains an equipment database to organize work orders, equipment repairs and calibrates equipment for validation purposes.
Performs critical equipment inspections and documentation.
Manages spare parts inventory and supplies.
Implements specific projects that address cost reduction, improve efficiency and production accuracy.

Qualifications:
3-5 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.  Preference given to those with experience in the electro-mechanical operation of a production line, including bottling, packaging and general production.
Post-secondary training in electronics, automation or industrial mechanics would be a definite asset.
Attention to details and accuracy is required.
Strong skills in teamwork, organizational, communication (written and verbal) are required.
Familiarity with HAACP and Good Manufacturing Practices is considered an asset.
Good computer skills (including MS Office).
