Our client, READ Saskatoon addresses and supports the advancement of literacy and learning in our community. READ provides access to a range of literacy services for adults and families through the work of staff, trained volunteers and community partners.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Program Manager.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Program Manager oversees the management of READ Saskatoons programs, including planning, organizing, staffing, leading, and monitoring program activities. Supporting and working with the team of coordinators and facilitators, the Program Manager adapts programming in response to evaluation results. As part of the senior management team, the Program Manager also plays a key role in high-level strategic planning and offers guidance, support, and resources to other literacy organizations in the province.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensure the delivery of READ Saskatoons program and activities are in accordance with the mission and the goals of the organization - - Manage day-to-day operational aspects of programs
- Provide support, guidance and supervision to program coordinators and facilitators
- Create a collaborative culture within the team and ensure the team has the knowledge, skills and resources required to complete their responsibilities
- Establish and maintain community partnerships and networks; this includes supporting program participant recruitment
- Write funding proposals and reports (internal and external) for literacy programs
- Implement the human resources policies, procedures and practices of the organization
- Implement performance management processes for all program staff; conduct effective performance evaluations and mentor those with less experience
