Summary: The duties for an Accounting Associates role vary greatly. As the mid-level role in the accounting division, applicants could be performing a variety of accounting duties across the functional division, depending on their experience and the size of the structure of the National Accounting team. Not all of the duties listed below will be assigned at all times, and other duties may be assigned at any time.
Job Accountabilities/Responsibilities: (Abbreviated)
Cover Vacancies or time off for cash associate positions as required.
Perform duties related to national purchasing as required.
Perform accounts payable & accounts receivable duties as required.
Perform duties related to month end close, including bank reconciliations and other ledger reconciliations.
Complete statistics surveys and audit as required.
Follow up with all guest inquiries in a timely fashion and laisse with or forward to the applicable department.
Record recurring and significant errors made by non-accounting associated as per company policy.
Assist with balancing of daily revenues and payments (daily income journal).
Balance guest ledger, advance deposit ledger, and accounts receivable ledgers.
Assist with duties that are critical to the preparation of the monthly financial reporting.
Support all department managers regarding their expenses, providing information as requested.
Assist with year-end audit.
Maintain accounting standards with established policies and procedures.
Communicate and coordinate guests needs to other hotel associates/departments.
Identify and resolve all guest concerns/complaints to their satisfaction.
Education, Experience, & Skills: (Abbreviated)
2 Years of accounting and/or cash experience, preferably with a hospitality background.
Advance knowledge of Microsoft Office 365(Especially Excel) including SharePoint.
