The City of Moose Jaw is seeking to fill our Head Caretaker position. Under the direction of the Facilities & Buildings Supervisor, the Head Caretaker is responsible for a variety of tasks related to the operation and maintenance of various City-owned and operated facilities.  

This position will perform the following duties:
-    Ensure proper operations and maintenance of the heating and cooling systems, ventilation, mechanical and life safety systems
-    Perform various janitorial duties ensuring cleanliness and safety standards in the facilities
-    Check and clean public washrooms replenishing supplies as needed
-    Monitor building control systems and report situations needing attention
-    Assess the need for facility and equipment repairs and obtain estimates for budget purposes
-    Assist the Manager of Operations with review of the Operating Budget and assist with the development of budgets for related buildings
-    Evaluate and respond to requests from staff, users and the general public to ensure quality service
-    Clear snow from all exists, including emergency exists
-    Perform minor repair work, including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, cement work and painting
-    Available for after hour call-outs for emergency situations
-    Responsible for security of the building, including opening and closing
-    Supervise cleaning staff
-    Maintain good working relationships with contractors, groups and facility staff

Qualified candidates will possess:
-    Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent
-    Saskatchewan Refrigeration Operator's Certificate
-    Saskatchewan Fireman's Certificate
-    3 years related experience with demonstrated skills in the operation and maintenance of building control systems
-    Physical ability to perform the assigned duties
-    Valid Class 5 driver's license
