The Canadian Light Source Inc. (CLSI) is the national synchrotron research facility on the University of Saskatchewan campus in Saskatoon. This facility produces high-intensity synchrotron light to explore the nature and structure of molecules and serves national and international users from academia, industry, and government institutions.
CLSI is now accepting applications for an Education Coordinator (1 Year Term) in the Science Projects department. The Education Coordinator is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of CLS educational projects, programs, events, and cooperative activities in conjunction with CLS strategic science goals. The Education Coordinator works collaboratively with other CLS staff to develop public school and post-secondary programs and teaching resources.
Responsibilities:
Collaborates with staff across CLS to facilitate successful delivery of ongoing educational programs.
Develops and coordinates educational events in support of broader CLS goals and mandate targeting high school students and teachers.
Develops and coordinates production and distribution of teaching resources and curricular materials for public and post-secondary education audiences.
Collaborates with CLS staff to maintain and develop the education section of the CLS web site with related social media.
Actively cultivates relationships with Aboriginal communities, institutions, and programs supporting the same so that collaborative programs, resources, and projects can be developed.
Researches and prepares material for promotion of education programs including publications, posters, electronica materials and one-pagers.
Qualifications:
A relevant post-secondary diploma or undergraduate degree, preferably in Science, Engineering, or Education.
Proficiency in French or an Indigenous language would be an asset. Experience working with Indigenous communities would be an asset.
