Description

Applications are now being accepted for the Sport & Recreation Manager in the Community Services Department. Reporting to the Director of Community Services the successful candidate will be responsible for the development, integration, administration and maintenance of operations and programming for all civic recreation facilities, the delivery of City recreation programs and for assisting community stakeholders in the delivery of recreation programs. Working closely with numerous stakeholders, the Manager provides assistance and expertise in developing master plans and carrying out feasibility and business studies to meet future growth plans of the City ensuring services are meeting community needs.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

-Provide leadership and direction to a multifaceted team comprised of diverse disciplines within the Recreation Division. Actively engage residents, stakeholders, ward councillors and community leaders to ensure services are meeting community needs.
-Develop strategic plans and business models for the Recreation Division which align with the Citys Community Services Master Plan
-Oversee the development, integration, administration and maintenance of area-wide financial operating and capital budgets/forecasts as well as revenue expectations.

Qualifications Include:
A recognized Post Secondary degree in Recreation, Business, Public Administration or a related field. Experience in sports and recreation management is considered an asset
A minimum of five (5) years experience working in a management capacity leveraging community groups in the development, coordination and evaluation of sport and recreation programs. Experience working in a unionized environment an asset.
