The Program Assistant will be responsible for, but not limited, to the following tasks:
-Assisting the AFCS Community Engagement Manager in the performance of his/her duties
-Liaise with local and provincial organizations for the purpose of collaboration and/or assistance with cultural events and initiatives -Attend meetings, take minutes, and keep notes. -Schedule executive meetings and travel plans. -Make arrangements for committee, board, and other meetings.
- Design AFCS annual report
- Assist employees in any ongoing projects or programs as necessary.
- Engage in out of office activities regarding: i) Reconciliation Saskatoon; a collaboration of over 80 local organizations working towards the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Calls to Action
ii) Participate in the
planning of the National Indigenous People's Day/Rock Your Roots Walk for Reconciliation (June 21) and provide support on day of
iii) Participation in the planning of the Wicihitowin Speaker Series and Wicihitowin Conference; events sponsored in part by the AFCS that are geared towards Aboriginal engagement
iv) Assisting in the planning and execution of events regarding Project: Call #93; an initiative sponsored in part by the AFCS
v) Assist in the planning and execution of the AFCS Annual General Assembly
*Preference will be given to First Nations and Metis Youth
