Description

Gabriel Housing Corporation, a non-profit housing corporation is seeking to fill the position of Tenant Services Coordinator. Reporting to the Manager of Finance & Administration, this position's primary role includes but is not limited to developing a professional working relationship with tenants, providing guidance and/or referral services to families and individuals encountering difficulties with housing or housing related matters.

The ideal candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills and also be familiar with the culture of Aboriginal people, more specifically, Metis people. The successful candidate must have strong public relations, organizational and communication skills, ability to work independently with no supervision and the ability to work as a team player and be proficient in using all Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, Word and Power Point and Windows 7 or newer version.

Other duties include assisting applicants to complete and process applications for housing placement, referrals to community resource agencies, working with the Office of Residential Tenancies, income verifications,  completing move-in and move-out procedures, preparing reports and preparing correspondence regarding eviction notices, rent arrears and late payments.

Preference will be given to Metis/Aboriginal candidates who self-declare.

The ideal candidate will have at a minimum a Certificate in Social Work with a minimum 3 - 5 years related experience. An equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered.

Must be bondable, have valid driver's license free of encumbrances and suitable vehicle for work. Only those selected for an interview will be contacted.

Wage/Salary: Negotiable
