Description

GENERAL DUTIES:
    Accessions, catalogues, photographs, researches, and manages documentation of artworks in the Permanent Collection.
    Monitors the condition of artworks in the collection, prepares incoming and outgoing condition reports of all loans to the collection, and plans and maintains the Vault storage areas in keeping with proper care and security procedures.
    Ensures that damage to the collection is professionally restored either in-house or via contract.
    Identifies and reports all irregularities to the Director/Curator and implements suitable conservation measures to ensure the protection of the art works.
    In collaboration with the Director/Curator, ensures that temperature, humidity and lighting levels in all areas of the facility in which art works are exhibited or stored are monitored constantly and that appropriate records of the readings are maintained.
    Prepares draft grant applications related to the Permanent Collection in collaboration with the Director/Curator.
    Serves as advisor to the Director/Curator in regards to insurance of all works in the collection and in-house exhibitions; manages shipping in these areas; arranges appraisals and processes damage claims.
    Maintains current knowledge of all legal matters pertaining to public collecting, and related contractual arrangements.
    Acts as liaison with visiting researchers and curators regarding the collection; answers enquiries of other colleagues and those of the public as required.
    Documents exhibitions digitally and prepares digital media for artists immediately following an exhibition (as required).
    Occasionally assists with packing and unpacking of exhibitions.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
    A degree in art or art history, or a related field.
    Minimum three years' experience of related registration experience in a public art gallery or art museum.
    Possession of a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver's Licence.
