Our Regina office is currently recruiting for a full-time Legal Assistant to join our busy and thriving Litigation practice group. This position provides a great opportunity for developing your skill-set and allows for potential growth in advancing your career.
In this role, your required skills and knowledge will include (but will not be limited to):
Managing all administrative tasks;
Drafting correspondence and pleadings;
New file opening;
Trial preparation;
Booking appointments, setting discovery and trial dates;
Organize service of Court documents;
Assist with reviewing and assembling documentary evidence;
Manage monthly billing;
Expense requisitions;
Managing filing and file organization, both electronic and paper;
Handling and prioritizing workload independently;
Meeting strict deadlines;
Other duties as assigned.
To be successful in this role, you have:
A minimum of 5 years of experience as a legal assistant;
Must have knowledge in commercial and insolvency litigation;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required;
Strong organizational and time management skills;
Excellent proofreading skills (ability to check typed material for grammatical, typographical, spelling, word usage and format errors);
Excellent multi-tasking skills;
Problem solving with minimal supervision;
Communicating in a professional manner with lawyers and other team members.
