ACCOUNTING CLERK

The City of Prince Albert has an opportunity available for a permanent Accounting Clerk II in our Financial Services Department.
The Accounting Clerk II is responsible for the collection, entry, analysis and disbursement of data as it relates to the Financial Services Division. The position will provide information and exceptional customer service to the general public and internal staff.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
Create and maintain records which includes but is not limited to collection and verification of information, data entry, analysis, problem solving, posting and balancing.
Preparation of documents, including but not limited to: requisitions, invoices, billings, statements, permits, licenses, impound lot releases, journal entries and related reports.
Processing payments to vendors
Receive and process payments for various City services, including but not limited to: water utility payments, property taxes, transit passes, business licenses, parking tickets and impound payments, various invoices and permits.
Answering general inquiries and providing information to customers.
Directing further customer inquiries and complaints to appropriate departments
Training and/or mentoring of staff for Accounting Clerk I and II duties, as required.
Required Qualifications:
Certificate from an accredited institution in a business program with a minimum of two accounting courses
