Competencies:
(1) Minimum Grade XII with 2 year computer / electronics diploma/certification from a recognized institute or degree. Candidates with a top academic performance as confirmed by scholastic achievement awards are preferred.
(2) Knowledge of computers, printers, scanners, networks, network hardware, servers and server hardware.
(3) Must have training and knowledge of Windows desktop, Microsoft Office, Windows Server software, virus scanning software, Network switch software, firewall software and networking including IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, routing.
(4) Must be comfortable with replacing/repairing hardware and installing / upgrading software.
(5) Must have customer service skills and a customer service first mentality.
(6) Demonstrated verbal and written skills and the ability to communicate effectively with end users and other IT staff.
(7) Must be able to work independently and research solutions to problems and then implement them.
(8) Ability to maintain knowledge of new industry developments in hardware, software and communications fields.
(9) Valid Class 5 Novice 1 (minimum) drivers license and good driving record.
