AIDS Saskatoon is seeking a person with lived experience to be a Peer Support Worker to work as part of the Support Services Department. This position will support people in hospital who are living with HIV.
Job duties are as follows:
-Provide emotional support
-Provide information
-Help to link with needed services (referrals to appropriate agencies)
-Guide them to healthy coping mechanisms, including identification of and access to specific cultural supports
-Encourage them to stay in hospital for the duration of their treatment
-Track tablets given out to hospital residents
-To perform other duties as assigned or required
