DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide a variety of administrative and legal assistance including but not limited to:
Opening new files and matter;
Preparation of engagement letters;
Client identification and verification;
Documentation preparation (closing books, minute books, annual returns, CRA forms, etc.);
Drafting documents in support of corporate and tax transactions (incorporations, amalgamations, dissolutions, etc.);
Online filings with Saskatchewan Corporate Registry;
Coordination of meetings and agendas;
Provide training and support the growth of junior legal assistants;and
Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned time to time by the Business Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS/ATTRIBUTES
A minimum of three (3) years as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal and possess a Certificate or Diploma from a Community College or equivalent;
Client focused;
Proactive with an ability to adapt to evolving work processes and change management initiatives;
Capable of producing a high quality and quantity of work, sometimes under tight deadlines;
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently with a high attention to detail;
Proficient in Microsoft Office with excellent Microsoft Word skills;
Experience with drafting and formatting letters and other documents;
Proven willingness to work within a collaborative and creative team that is driven to excellence;
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and exercise discretion when necessary;and
Ability to communicate a variety of messages with understanding, social awareness, tact and resolve.
