Regina Food for Learning is seeking an enthusiastic, committed individual to fill the position of Assistant Food Services Coordinator. This is a great opportunity for anyone who enjoys interacting with volunteers and appreciates the importance of school feeding programs.
Regina Food for Learning is a non-profit organization that provides a child food service program in Regina schools and neighbourhoods.
Reporting to the Food Services Coordinator, you will help to oversee our Core Ritchie operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote a clean and safe food preparation environment for Regina Food for Learning's school meals, following Saskatchewan food safety guidelines
- Support volunteers working at the Core Ritchie location and provide guidance on recipes and food safety
- Maintain volunteer scheduling and open lines of communication with all volunteers
- Create a positive work environment where volunteers are valued
- Show leadership in the kitchen with all recipes, dishes, and techniques ensuring that the supplies are used in the most economically responsible way possible
- Track food supplies, kitchen equipment, and inventory
- Provide coverage for the Food Services Coordinator when required
Experience, Skills and Qualifications:
- Reliable, committed, and flexible
- Able to follow recipes
- Experience working with volunteers
- Able to lift 40 lbs.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to work both independently and in a team environment
- Valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle mandatory
- Completion of food safety course (cost reimbursed by employer)
- Completion of a Police Criminal Record Check (cost reimbursed by employer)
- Previous baking experience or experience with a non-profit considered an asset
This is a permanent, part-time position at approximately 16 hours/week. Work hours are 4 days/week on weekday mornings during the school year.
