Description

This role works collaboratively in the Job Launch Program to carry out a wide range of activities that play a critical role in supporting participants to successfully participate in the labour market. Clients are defined as 16 years or older, incarcerated, on probation, have been paroled or court ordered or have been involved with the criminal justice system within the last six months and have a reasonable expectation of employment.
Duties:
    Gather information about individual readiness for change, strengths, needs and challenges, and goals to inform assessment.
    Utilize vocational assessments to inform participant assessments and action plan.
    Work with participants to develop and monitor progress of mutually agreed upon, strength based action plans that support goals and meet mandated restrictions of release and probation/parole.
    Work collaboratively with community partners including First Nation Communities, Tribal Councils to maintain knowledge of resources available in the community.
    Work collaboratively with fellow team members to coordinate interventions in individual action plans.
    Provide flexible, client-centered case management services that support individuals in gaining current, relevant labour market information.
    Provide client-centered case management services that help participants develop and apply relevant self-marketing tools.
    Develop and deliver info sessions and presentations to individuals and groups in correction facilities.
    Complete individual assessments and planning to support release plans.
    Provide client-centred case management services that support the understanding and acquisition of job search skills.
    Build and maintain employer partnerships to provide individuals with a recent criminal record increased employment opportunities.
    Ensure the effective, efficient and confidential collection, processing and reporting of quality case files, reports and information requirements.
