Sing Like A STAR is looking for a local Moose Jaw teacher to get involved with our program. You do NOT need extensive vocal training or be able to play an instrument to be great at this position. Our students are young and we are teaching them BASIC vocal skills.
Sing Like A STAR has one or two positions currently available. We are most interested in finding instructors who are great with kids, have experience instructing a group and have a fun positive attitude.
An outline of what to teach as well as the music is all provided for you and is designed for you to show up, teach and then go home and not have to think about it again until the following week.
Examples of skills we teach:
- sitting up straight (proper posture)
- vowels (you gotta open your mouth to sing Ah)
- basic musicality (quite vs. loud, fast vs. slow, high pitches vs. low pitches)
- cool lingo (can you explain what background vocals are, what a cover song is, etc.)
- stage presence (smiling, not picking your nose...)
If you have read this far - you just might be EXACTLY what we are looking for! Plus - you would not be teaching alone. We already have a great vocal coach in MJ that you would be co-teaching with!
COMMITMENT REQUIRED
Ideally, we are looking for someone who would like to get involved in our program for at least a few years and could be consistently available for one night a week. We would like to keep our program on Wednesday evenings but could consider switching if necessary, to get the right individual involved. Our current lessons take place on Wednesday evenings at Minto United Church
RATE OF PAY
Our vocal coaches in our other locations tell us we pay quite well. However, our rate of pay is different depending on the coach and what qualifications they bring to the table
