Job Description: The Nursing Unit Manager is accountable for the overall management and quality of patient care provided to obstetrical patients, newborns and their families within hospital and during the maternity Visiting Program follow-up. The Obstetrics Nursing Unit Manager also provides supports to northern maternal and children's clinical practice.

The Nursing Unit Manager of the Obstetrics Unit is one of two positions reporting to the Director Maternal & Children's Programs North.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Nursing
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA)
Experience
Five to ten years of related nursing or administrative experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Excellent leadership, mentoring, organizational, and communication skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Strong analytical and decision-making skills, sound judgment and integrity
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills
Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to manage interpersonal relationships;

Certification in BCLS required.

PALS, Employee Relations Course, TLR Course, OH&S course are an asset.
Computer proficiency, ESP knowledge an asset.
