The Senior Procurement Specialist is responsible for Coordinating Companys vendor and business partner contracts and assist Procurement Manager in the purchasing of steel fabrication commodities, sale and rental equipment, capital purchases, supplies, and services.
The Senior Procurement Specialist will be responsible for following:
- Processes major requests for quotations and participates in contract negotiations and prime vendor agreements with major suppliers and distributors.
- Develops and maintains weight structure for bid evaluations and completes bid analysis spreadsheet.
- Maintains a central registry for all awarded contracts including files and checklists.
- Develops and maintains a renewal schedule for repetitive and/or multi-year contracts.
- Recommends contract templates to the Senior Estimator and Project Managers and implements them so as to protect the integrity of the organization.
- Proposes the most effective and appropriate purchasing processes based on current research and Best Business Practices.
- Evaluates existing procurement guidelines and procedures and identifies process improvements as required.
- Implements, and monitors performance metrics for transportation, shipping and receiving.
- Supports development of new or revised purchasing guidelines, processes, systems and procedures that improve service delivery while maintaining an open and transparent process.
- Reviews requisitions with Senior Estimator, Project Managers, and Fabrication & Production to ensure purchase descriptions' adequacy and specifications resulting in the most suitable procurement processes.
- Advises on special contract terms and conditions.
- Keeps up to date on price trends, availability and reliability of products and services as required by the company
- Ensures all new capital items are competitively purchased, received and inventoried.
Recognized degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience preferred.
