Description

Legal Aid Saskatchewan is seeking a term lawyer for its Swift Current Area Office for a period of one year.  

Legal Aid Saskatchewan provides accessible and professional legal services in criminal and family law to eligible people.

The successful applicant can expect to practise predominantly in the area of family law plus provide coverage for adult/youth criminal matters.  Other duties will include the provision of child apprehension legal advice to clients via telephone; assembling a collection of precedents/briefs used throughout Legal Aid; and completing file assessments.

Applicants should be Lawyers entitled to practice in Saskatchewan with experience in litigation in both Provincial and Superior Courts.  Placement within the salary range [$77,420 to $139,708] is commensurate with experience.  The position is   within the Union.   Term employees qualify after 6 months for life insurance/health/dental benefits.  On an annual basis, 3 weeks of vacation and 15 EDOs are available (prorated if employed less than a year).
